When applying for Canadian immigration through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), even small errors can lead to a "Return as Incomplete" status or a flat refusal.

Here are the top five mistakes applicants frequently make:

1. Missing or Outdated Forms.

IRCC updates its forms regularly. If you submit an older version of a form that has since been replaced, the system may automatically reject the entire package as incomplete.

2. Lack of Documentary Evidence for Work Experience.

Simply providing a job offer or a payslip is rarely enough. Applicants often fail to provide detailed Reference Letters that meet specific IRCC requirement

3. Misrepresentation (Intentional or Accidental).

Misrepresentation is one of the most serious issues and can result in a 5-year ban from Canada.

4. Incorrect Fee Payment.

Applications require different fees, such as the processing fee, the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF), and biometrics fees. If the wrong amount is paid or the receipt is not clearly attached to the application, IRCC will not begin processing the file.

5. Inadequate Proof of Funds

Many programs require applicants to prove they have enough money to settle in Canada.
